Cammarata Historic Centre Regeneration Project (ongoing) is a community-led initiative in rural Sicily, led by Streetto. The initiative supports the revitalisation of Cammarata’s historic centre through the renovation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, cultural activity, long-term residency and local engagement.
-
Scope: Culture-led regeneration
- Type: Placemaking, adaptive reuse, cultural activity
- Location: Cammarata (AG), Sicily, Italy
-
Leading association: Streetto
- Status: Ongoing
As a resident participant, I am developing projects within the historic centre, including adapting Casa Giglio as a lived interior and developing an art and design studio and garden.
Together, these projects form part of the gradual re-inhabitation of the historic centre. Through renovation, everyday living and artistic practice, I explore how existing spaces can support new ways of dwelling and how relationships between people, materials and place evolve through use, attention and care.
