Split Cut
Design research

2025

Inspired by Gordon Matta-Clark’s Conical Intersect1, this investigation used manipulated archival photographs from the State Library Victoria to explore how cutting, framing and fragmentation can reveal new spatial readings. The process emphasised the relationship between documentation, collage-making and spatial observation, while highlighting the limitations of archival imagery.
